FIRST SATURDAY LITTER PICK
A group of residents get together on the first Saturday of every month to pick up litter and tidy the village. Meet outside the Victoria Institute at 10.00 a.m., weather permitting and in line with social distance guidance. Bags and litter pickers provided, and it is a good idea to bring your own gloves.
You decide how much time and where abouts in the village needs some attention. Half an hour or an hour can – and does – make such a difference. If you have seen an area which would benefit from a tidy up, please contact Peter Collins at the Victoria Institute (771733) and he will let the litter pickers know.
The Lune Rivers Trust is organising volunteer Himalayan Balsam bashing parties. We have the following dates if anyone would like to join us balsam bashing along the Millennium Way in Lancaster:
1. Wednesday 21st July – meet at Denny Beck, Halton 10.30
2. Wednesday 28th July – meet at Lune Aqueduct carpark, Caton Road, Lancaster 10.00
3. Wednesday 11th August – meet at Lune Aqueduct carpark, Caton Road, Lancaster 10.00
4. Thursday 26th August – meet at Holiday Inn, Caton Road , Lancaster 10.00
Fun for all ages and abilities. Gloves will be provided. Please wear long sleeves and trousers and sensible footwear. If you would like to attend we ask that you let us know in advance and email firstname.lastname@example.org with the day you’d like to come, number in your party and a contact telephone number. Or ring on
01524 544362 or 07814 694129.
Do bring along a project you are working on, or start a new one when you come. We have a good selection of wool.
