Parish Clerk required – part-time post

Caton-with-Littledale is a large parish on the edge of the Forest of Bowland AONB and within Lancaster District.It has an active parish council with up to 12 councillors.

Caton-with-Littledale Parish Council is looking for an experienced Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer. The person appointed will be a good communicator and organiser, computer literate and comfortable using Word and Excel. The ideal candidate will hold the Certificate in Local Council Administration qualification (CiLCA), or be working towards it.

The post is 16 hours per week, mainly working from home. The Parish Clerk also attends Parish Council meetings, which are held monthly (except for August) on the second Tuesday of each month, commencing at 7.00pm at the Victoria Institute in Caton. The Parish Clerk attends other meetings as required. Hours of work will be flexible and subject to changing workload and the parish council’s meeting schedule.

The salary will be in accordance with the National Joint Council (NJC) SCP Spine Scale 8 – 10 – starting at£10.84 an hour..
