Platinum Jubilee in our villages

PLATINUM JUBILEE LUNCH – Platinum Jubilee Lunch, Saturday 4th June. A reminder that there will be no charge for the lunch, which is particularly for older residents and those who would otherwise be alone for the Jubilee celebrations. It should be possible to arrange transport for those who need it. If you would like to come, please give your name to Peter Collins at the Victoria Institute. Phone number 771733.   If there are more residents who wish to attend than places (70), seats will be allocated by ballot.

CHURCHES TOGETHER  PICNIC

– To commemorate our Queens Platinum Anniversary we are having a picnic on the grass behind St Pauls Church Hall on Sunday 5th June after our own church morning services. Please bring your own picnic and we will enjoy this special occasion together.

JUBILEE BEACONS – In celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Jubilee Beacons will be lit on Thursday 2nd June throughout the UK (and Commonwealth.) A village jubilee beacon/bonfire will be lit at the top of Littledale near the public car park( LA2 9ET).

Bring your own picnic to enjoy from 7.30pm onwards. Ample, if somewhat uncomfortable seating available – it’s a large but rocky field! Lighting of beacon, along with the rest of the country, at 9.45pm.  CANCELLED
