Thank you!

As we look back on 2018 and prepare for 2019, let's thank all the people who help look after our village, run clubs and organisations or provide services to the community (paid and unpaid).  I would like to highlight the  staff in the Co-op in Caton and in the Post Office in Brookhouse who are working long hours  throughout the year, and it has been extra  busy for them this last week. People in the Health Centre and the Pharmacy are vital to many local residents.  And our three pubs, takeaway and cafe. Our five churches, our youth organisations, sports clubs, village associations are all run by people who deserve our thanks - most of them are volunteers.  Our two schools are a key part of our community, and we are grateful to their staff and to the people who volunteer there as governors and helpers.  B4RN is making progress in the villages, and a huge amount of the  work is being done by volunteers. And a big thank you to the busy people who ensure The Link reaches us each month, upate our Facebook and the village website.  This is also a good time to acknowledge the hard work of the trustees of the Victoria Institute and our local Parish Council.  And we are also  grateful to all the local people who quietly pick up litter, check on neighbours, stop for a chat....
