Caton Community School

Our new school year has got off to a flying start.  We have welcomed two new members of staff, Associate Headteacher, Gail Bowskill and School Administrator, Tracey Howarth who has replaced Amanda Thompson.  We wish Amanda all the very best with her next venture.

Class 1 pupils are looking forward to their trip to Greenlands Farm as part of their topic all about animals in different parts of the world and Class 2 will be visiting Heysham Power Station to extend their learning about electricity. Children in Years 5 and 6 are also getting ready for their residential trip to Winmarleigh in October.  Our new Reception starters have settled into school life brilliantly - we are very proud of them and they have been very brave, already joining the whole school in their weekly swimming lessons. These will continue throughout the Autumn term and we hope to have lots of children out of their armbands by Christmas and adding super sinkers to their Christmas lists instead!

Our Harvest Festival will take place at the end of September at Caton Baptist Church and we are collecting donations for the food bank. If anyone would like to contribute to this, donations can be dropped off at school any time before 28th September.
