British Empire Medal for Local Campaigner

Erica Sarney was awarded the British Empire Medal in the Queen's Birthday Honours List in June.  It was awarded for "Services to Wildflower and Pollinator Conservation in Lancashire".  Many of us have met Erica through the work she has done with bee-friendly planting along the Millennium Way in our village, at Crook o'Lune, and elsewhere in the Lune Valley.  These projects have often involved local youth and community groups. Congratulations Erica!
