Introduction to Precious Metal Clay

Friday, 21 June 2019 - 9:30am

This full day workshop will allow you time to play and explore the possibilities of
making silver jewellery out of Metal Clay specifically Art Clay 650* and using a torch
to fire your work.
A starter materials kit will be provided and is not included in the cost of the course
with a value of £28 including 10 grams of clay, materials kit, and 0.8mm sterling
silver wire.
*Art Clay Silver is precious metal clay that looks and feels like ordinary sculpting or
porcelain clay with fine particles of pure silver mixed with a non-toxic organic binder.
When fired the binder burns out leaving a fine silver piece, which can be hallmarked
as fine silver.
What will I learn?
During the course you will learn how to work with the material and make a small
pendant and pair of earrings.
The cost of the workshop £93
